We answered 7 Plickers questions
We completed the Activity: Cellular Respiration
Concept Attainment Quiz and Independent Practice (crossword puzzle) were handed out to help study for the test.
Test is Monday, December 18th.

Grade 6:
We answered 4 Plickers questions
We began the research activity: Cell Theory
    We are working with a partner. Research should be done at home (research sites were sent via email). Posters will be completed and presented on Tuesday, December 12, 2017
Homework: Science Fair Experimental Design

Grade 8:
We worked on our digital news article for the activity: Writing About Sickle Cell Disease. 
    The assignment can be found on Canary.
    Research sites were sent via email.
    Audience was determined by rolling the die.
    Article must be printed out and must include a bibliography, and at least one picture.

Grade 7:
We answered 6 Plickers questions
We completed the Activity: Where Does it Come From, by playing Concentration with the energy cards. We then placed the cards into 3 food chains and described where and how the energy is used. We also answered 5 post activity questions.

We discussed the requirements for Experimental Design (due December 12th)
We answered 4 Plickers questions
We completed the activity: Virus vs Bacteria and compared our answer to the answer key
Homework: complete a Venn diagram about Viruses and Bacteria
        Answer post-activity questions

We took the test on the scope: Intro to Photosynthesis
We drew the new Graphic Organizer for the scope: Energy Flow in Organisms
    We completed the APK (taped into our journal)
    We completed the Hook: What are Calories, by looking at food labels
    We played Mrs. WIcht's new game : Timeline (Science and Discoveries)

Grade 7:
We answered 6 Plickers questions
We built our terrariums today. The terrarium should be self-sufficient for 1 month, requiring no maintenance. Terrariums are due back to the Science Lab on January 17th.

We watched a BrainPop video about Cells followed by an open notebook quiz
We completed the Activity: Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic Cells
Science Fair Background Research due December 5th (3 bibliography cards, 10 notecards)

Grade 8:
We answered 4 Plickers questions
We broke into new research teams. We are researching Genes and Proteins.
We will present our findings in a slide show on Thursday.

Grade 7:
We:
    answered 6 Plickers questions
    watched a BrainPop video about Photosynthesis
    took a Socrative quiz on the BrianPop video
    observed the activity: The Importance of Light (Elodea under a funnel, collecting oxygen, its waste product)
     wrote the C and E. R is for homework
    Homework: Design a terrarium- be ready with AMOUNTS of pebbles, activated charcoal, potting soil, grass seed and radish seeds you will need. These items will be provided by Mrs. Wicht. If you want anything else (i.e. succulents) you must bring those items. ALSO, you must bring a jar on Wednesday!

Grade 6:
We answered 6 Plickers questions
We completed a fun microscope activity: we tried to discern if the slides contained living (had cells) or nonliving items.
Our claim: All living things are made of cells
        evidence: we listed some specific info we learned from observing the slides
        reasoning: think about this for Tuesday!!!
